Easter

Max wants to be just like Daddy. He's in heaven on his new Spiderman bike! It's the smallest bike we could find and he still can barely reach the pedals.

Ally with our next door neighbors, Lyndi and Ashley. If I can't find Ally, I know where she went.

Coloring Easter eggs

Max was brave enough to give the Easter bunny a high five at our neighborhood Easter egg hunt, but he really only wanted the skateboard that the Easter bunny rode up on. Ally wouldn't go near him. When we saw him there Ally said, "Oh its just somebody dressed up in a costume." Nice. Max wouldn't put an egg in his basket without shaking it first to make sure there was candy in it.

They found their Easter baskets

Malia got in on some of the fun too.

Max was not happy that Ally got to the egg that he was eying first.

They were pretty good sports about being my photo subjects.

Max....continued

My mom has a saying, "If it's funny later, it's funny now." I am really trying to incorporate that into my life, especially concerning Max. Hopefully these moments will give you a laugh. I am still trying to laugh about a couple.

The other day I was upstairs for a minute and the kids were coloring at the table. I came down to blue marker all over the table. I sighed and got the wipes and told Max to start scrubbing. As we are scrubbing Max says, "I'm sorry I wrote on the chair Mom." My heart dropped as I looked over and sure enough, I had a blue chair. Thank goodness for laminate.
A few minutes later I was giving Malia a bottle and as I finish and go into the kitchen I see that he has moved the chair next to the counter, got out the scissors and proceeded to cut up a paper I had with some phone numbers on it, an envelope with a check in it, and his brand new tie that I had just bought him the night before. As I am cleaning up the minuscule little pieces of paper that are covering the counter and floor I look over and he is coloring on the chair again with a ball point pen. Well, I had had it and so I put him in time out for a few minutes to think about what he had done. When I got him off, I sat him on my lap and asked him why he was put in time-out. "Because I hit Ally."
I give up.

Later (as he was climbing the pantry) he found the shaker filled with those tiny little balls to decorate cookies. He decided to take them up to Ally's bed and decorated her bed with the whole bottle.
I think he decided there was something to this because the next day Ally was sleeping on the couch. He got a hold of some salad seasoning in a shaker bottle. You can see it coming can't you? He decorated Ally this time.

Splish, Splash

Rub a dub, dub, 3 kids in the tub
And who do you think that they be?
Allyson, Max, and Malia
All splashing water at me!
When they are in the bathtub I'm not sure whether to sing "Splish, Splash" or the theme song to Titanic. I do not give baths if I am wearing any articles of clothing that I want to keep on or if I have any make-up on.

I didn't think that humans were supposed to be nocturnal but Malia is proving me wrong.

I think that I would be scared too. Max LOVES his little sister so much! He "burps" her (a little too hard), cleans her face, puts her binky in (she's gagging), wakes her up for mommy, and takes her socks off. The other day Max was so sweet to share with Malia, she swallowed a Skittle before I could get it out of her mouth. Amazingly, she loves him back. To our dismay, Malia laughs really hard at him, usually when he's doing something naughty so he does it over and over.

Ally is a mini-mom and such a good helper! On many occasions if Malia wakes up and I can't get her right away, Ally is in her bed holding her and talking to her.

Maxed Out

I don't think I knew what I was signing up for when I had a boy. Let me just take you through a day in the life of Max.
-Wake up to Max pulling my hair because I'm sleeping too close to him (in MY bed).
-He scales the dresser and pulls out everything in his drawer to find his soccer shirt to wear.
-Gets time out for hitting Ally.
-As I'm making breakfast it's a little too quiet, I check on Max and he has dipped toilet paper into the toilet and made balls which are plastered on the walls and the floor. I also find Daddy's toothbrush all wet which Max says he was brushing his teeth with. I'm not even going to ask.
-While I'm taking a shower he climbs on the table and gets my water bottle, dumps it out on the floor and jumps in it. Wet up to his knees, new change of clothes.
-Running around the house naked.
-More time out for hitting Ally.
-We go to the Discovery Center, I'm five feet away from where he is playing, he disappears, basically a lock down, as the worker brings him back to me from UPSTAIRS he says "Mommy I was looking for you." I guess it was my fault.
-Running around the house naked.
-Climbs up and takes most of the pictures off of my ribbon board, beautifully coloring many faces with yellow marker.
-The creativity does not stop there as he paints the kitchen chair with purple paint.
-Climbs in Malia's bed waking her from her nap.
-Climbs to the second highest shelf in the pantry to get the cookies, which he opens, all while balancing with just his feet.
-Time out for hitting Ally.
-Squeezes Saltines in between his hands and decorates the kitchen floor.
-Gets daddy's electric razor and shaves Malia's hair and the teddy bear. (They needed their whiskers off).
-Gets a Capri Sun which he squeezes while he's walking around the kitchen, making pictures on the floor I guess.
-Climbs on Ally's bunk bed and pulls up her tucked in blankets (that bed is a bugger to make!)
-Smears toothpaste on the dresser.
-Runs around the house naked.
And when we finally get his jammies on and he's going to bed he comes and gives me a hug and tells me he loves me.
He's soo sweet.

Joining the Crowd

Okay, so we are finally coming up to date and doing a blog. Kyrk is ecstatic that I am taking over this responsibility. We'll see how I do. We really just have too many funny, crazy things going on that we have to let you laugh with and at us.
