A story worth telling

Across the fence in our backyard is a huge apricot tree. Not just any apricot tree, but one that has the most beautiful, delicious apricots you've ever tasted. When you walk by your mouth waters. We are friends with the owners and they told us to come and pick apricots anytime. Well, it was just on one of those mouth-watering days that Mom and Hilary (who was staying with us) walked by the tree and decided to get some apricots. They didn't know the neighbors so they settled for picking the apricots that were hanging over the fence. The only problem was that those branches were a little high, so they decided to get creative. They were jumping, using each other for step stools, climbing on each others backs, knees, hands- anything they could think of. Well, after little success they went inside grateful that no one had witnessed their embarrassing attempts. A short time later, the phone rang (which Hilary answered), and a Pleasant Grove officer was calling about unauthorized picking of fruit. Hilary was very surprised and embarrassed and stammered through an explanation. After a few minutes our neighbor Mark couldn't hold it in anymore and started laughing. He admitted to watching the whole scene. Hilary is still looking for a way to get Mark back. Any suggestions?
